About The Memorial Market
How it all began
While I was attending UCLA in 2007, I received a tough call from my mother informing me that my grandmother (Grams, Judith Strand) was very ill. I took some time off school to come home, where Grams had decided to enter hospice care in our family home. We enjoyed each other’s company and talked for countless hours, savoring the last moments we would share on this earth.
While Grams wanted to be cremated, I spent my evenings researching cremation memorial options that would honor her in a unique and special way, something more personal to her than a traditional urn.
I was amazed by the countless websites I found, run by talented and passionate vendors offering incredible services in this space.
In that moment, I thought to myself, Why has no one put all of these options in one place to make it easier for people to find these vendors and create more meaningful memorials?
